Lisa Brown MS, RD, CDN

Lisa Brown has over 15 years experience in nutrition counseling. Prior to forming Brown & Medina Nutrition, Lisa was a senior dietitian at Joy Bauer Nutrition in NYC.  Lisa treats a variety of nutritional concerns including nutrition for the whole family, nutritional therapy for those of all ages suffering with anorexia & bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive overeating and disordered eating, weight management, pre & postnatal nutrition and general wellness.  Lisa is on the advisory board of Fan4Kids, a non-profit organization providing education to children in the public school system and she is the spokesperson for a brand of baby food and smoothies that has had much success in the UK and debuted in the US, fall 2009.

Before entering into private practice, Lisa was the nutrition specialist and coordinator of patient care & counseling at Peak Wellness Center of Greenwich Connecticut.  At this integrative medical center Lisa provided one-on-one nutritional counseling and led community outreach programs at local public and private schools, as well as at private corporations.  Additionally, she provided her expertise to on-site research studies conducted with other medical professionals. 

Lisa has been featured in national publications, on national TV and Radio and has been both a contributor and technical editor of books regarding the treatment of eating disorders.  Lisa is a frequent lecturer on nutrition, with speaking engagements before a range of audiences including school children, professional dancers, parents and her colleagues.  Lisa received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from Hunter College, School of Health Sciences. 

Lisa resides in Manhattan, New York with her husband and their two children.

Jennifer Medina MS, RD, CDE, CDN

Prior to forming Brown & Medina Nutrition, Jennifer had been a senior nutritionist with the private practice Joy Bauer Nutrition for over 10 years specializing in pediatric nutrition, diabetes, eating disorders, food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders (IBS, Crohns, colitis, celiac) and weight control.  She is a certified diabetes educator and in addition to private practice works for Animas/Johnson & Johnson as an insulin pump trainer and for New York University Medical Centers Epilepsy Center as a Ketogenic dietitian for epileptic children. 

Her earlier clinical work experience includes positions at The Joslin Diabetes Treatment Center at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital, NYC as a pediatric diabetes nutritionist; The Vanitallie Center for Weight Management at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital; SUNY Downstate Medical Center in the OB/GYN Oncology, Intensive Care and Aids units; Lutheran Medical Centers pediatric and orthopedic-neurology units. Jennifer maintains professional affiliations with organizations including:  The American Dietetic Association, The American Diabetes Association, National Eating Disorders Association. Jennifer has been featured on national TV and has been both a contributor and technical editor of books regarding the treatment of eating disorders and the treatment of diabetes.   She graduated from Columbia University with a Master's of Science in Nutrition and Applied Physiology (exercise physiology) and graduated from New York University with a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics. 

She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, daughter and son.
